Gel polish or nail extensions? Which one suits you?
Both hold for weeks, but they answer different needs. How do you choose, based on your nails and your daily life?
This is the question we hear most often at the nail table. The answer depends on the state of your nails today and on what you expect from them; the two applications are strong in different places.
Who is gel polish for?
For anyone whose own nails are healthy and already the length they want, and who simply wants the polish to hold for three weeks without chipping. The application is short, removal is easy, and a new session is all it takes when you want to change colour. It does not add length; it only protects the surface.
Who are nail extensions for?
For anyone with a nail biting habit, or with nails that break or stay short, who wants length. Gel or polygel is shaped over the natural nail; an infill is needed every three or four weeks. When removed correctly the natural nail is preserved, which is why we ask you not to remove them at home.
Combining the two
Gel polish can be applied over extensions; the colour and design options are the same. Nail art can be done on either. Extensions before a long event or a holiday, gel polish for everyday use: that is what most guests choose.
